KERRY Katona has called on Katie Price to join her in going to church, suggesting it will help her "mental state".

The former Atomic Kitten star has been attending Hillsong Church in Tonbridge, and credits the service with helping her to learn to love herself.

Kerry, who has been friends with Katie for many years, has now insisted that the reality star "needs to be on her own, to learn to love herself and to not rush into anything".

Katie has had a turbulent past few years, undergoing a divorce to third husband Kieran Hayler, and being involved in an on- and off-again romance with Kris Boyson.

She was also declared bankrupt and was forced to deny she's fallen for a “rich divorced businessman” who she hopes will help with her money problems.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Kerry added: "I couldn't love anybody else until I learned to love me – that's when I met Ryan."

She continued: "After my third marriage to George, I got into self-help massively, motivational speaking, exercise, eating healthy and going to church.

"It really helped me and made me who I am today, and I'd advise Katie to do the same."

She concluded: "She will get through it. She's really strong and is surrounded by good people who've got her best interests at heart."

The 39-year-old mother-of-five revealed in 2019 that she had "found a new lease of life through going to the Hillsong Church every week".

"I’ve always been very spiritual and I was raised a Christian, but in recent months I’ve experience a lot of happiness in attending the services and learning more about Jesus, especially in the wake of George’s death," she said.

Hillsong has churches in 15 countries — including 12 in the UK — and a global weekly attendance of 100,000.

Justin Bieber, 25, is the operation's most famous fan, with many crediting the church with transforming him from pop's bad boy to a clean-living husband to wife Hailey.

The organisation’s charismatic preachers are famous for delivering electrifying sermons to a young crowd.

Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez have all attended Hillsong services.
