The Duchess, created by and starring Katherine Ryan will premiere on Friday, September 11 on Netflix worldwide. All six episodes will be available to watch in one go when it is released. After the trailer recently dropped, viewers are curious to know more about the cast of the hilarious new series. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.

Who is in the cast of The Duchess on Netflix?

Katherine – Katherine Ryan

Katherine Ryan plays an exaggerated version of herself in The Duchess on Netflix.

The six-episode series follows Katherine, a single mother to daughter Olive (played by Kate Bryne), living in London.

In The Duchess, Katherine debates whether to have a second child with her ex-boyfriend, Shep (Rory Keenan).

Speaking to The Radio Times earlier this year, Ryan explained how the show is loosely based on her life.

She said: “The Duchess is super authentic I think to my personality, to my stage persona, because it’s a disruptive mum who’s a bad person but a good mum.

“She’s fashionable, she loves being a mother she’s not sad about it — it’s me, yes.

“The rest is fiction, but it is a heightened version of me, and I’m really lucky because they’re just letting me go and write the real thing that I would have wanted to, and I don’t think I would have been as lucky with a traditional network, I don’t think they would give me the same liberty that Netflix does. It’s gonna be fun.”

Katherine Ryan is a Canadian actress and comedian, best known for her appearance on comedy panel shows in the UK.

Her credits include Comedy Central UK’s Roast Battle, Your Face or Mine, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, and Would I Lie to You.

She also has two stands up specials on Netflix, Katherine Ryan: In Trouble and Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room which you can watch now.

Not only does Katherine star in the show, but she also created the series and served as an executive producer.

Evan – Steen Raskopoulos

Steen Raskopoulos stars as Evan, Katherine’s current boyfriend in The Duchess.

Raskopoulos is an award-winning Australian comedian, best known for his role as John Mahogany in BBC Three’s Top Coppers.

He is also one half of the award-winning improvisation duo The Bear Pack, alongside Carlo Ritchie.

His other credits include Utopia, Whose Line Is it Anyway, Squinters and Feel Good.

Shepherd– Rory Keenan

Rory Keenan stars as Shepherd, Katherine’s ex-boyfriend and father of Olive in The Duchess.

Keenan is an Irish actor, best known for his stage career, having appeared in productions of Saint Joan, Welcome Home Captain Fox and The Kitchen.

He is well known on-screen for his role as Donal in Peaky Blinders and Kevin King in On Home Ground.

Keenan also starred in War and Peace as Bilibin and Versailles as Leopold.

He is also well known fro playing Eric in the RTE drama, Striking Out.

His film credits include The Guard, The Young Messiah and One Hundred Mornings.

Michelle De Swarte

Michelle De Swarte plays the role of Katherine’s best friend in The Duchess.

At the moment, her character’s name has not yet been revealed.

Swarte is a model, stand up comedian and presenter, best known for presenting the Emmy nominated series Woman which was produced by Gloria Steinem for Viceland USA.

She has modelled for Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, Cartier, Michael Kors, Mario Testino, and Steven Meisel.

Other cast members include Linda Marlowe, Emer Kenny and Doon Mackichan.

The Duchess premieres Friday, September 11 on Netflix
