Kate Garraway is renowned for co-hosting Good Morning Britain with Ben Shephard. However, it has since been reported the mum-of-two has landed a new show about decorating and adapting people’s homes. It comes after Kate had to adapt her own home in a bid to meet her husband, Derek Draper’s needs in his recovery from COVID-19.

It has been claimed Kate has landed a new TV show called Life Changing Homes.

The premise of the programme is said to be similar to Nick Knowles’ DIY SOS.

According to reports, Kate and a team of decorators will help a number of people to adapt their homes with a huge makeover.

Kate and the team will be helping people that have suffered major changes to their lives, whether it’s due to an accident or illness.

A source has claimed Kate would be the perfect candidate for the job.

“She really connects with the public,” the source told The Sun. “She has gone through a rough time since the pandemic started.”

The publication went on to report the show is still in its early stages.

They added that ITV has “high hopes it will become a new series in the new year”.

Kate’s husband Derek contracted coronavirus in March 2020 which led to the dad-of-two being put into a medically-induced coma.

Since his ordeal began, Kate has kept her social media followers and GMB viewers updated on his progress.

Derek suffered complications from the virus and was only able to return to the family home earlier this year after spending over 12 months in hospital.

After taking some time off work to be with her children, Darcey and Billy, Kate returned to her hosting in July.

Since Derek’s diagnosis, Kate has been open and honest about how tough life has been for her and her family.

Earlier this year, the mum-of-two gave ITV viewers an insight into her life after she released a 60-minute documentary titled Kate Garraway: Finding Derek.

The one-off special documented her husband’s subsequent health struggle since contracting the virus.

The documentary was met with huge success, winning the Best Authored Documentary award at the NTAs.

On Boxing Day, Derek and Kate were spotted out together for the first time since he was rushed to hospital.

The duo attended a Christmas pantomime together along with their family.

Derek, Kate, and their two children were going to watch Cinderella at the Richmond Theatre.

Derek is still being cared for at home after Covid severely damaged his internal organs in March 2020, leading him to be hospitalised for over a year.
