What happened to the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmates during the ITV show's three-day cancellation due to the havoc caused by Storm Arwen has mostly remained under wraps.

However, after becoming the first contestant to be eliminated from the Ant and Dec fronted series, Arlene Phillips has now given insight into what occurred when cameras temporarily stopped rolling.

Appearing on Monday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, the 78 year old revealed that everyone was placed in isolation in separate houses with nothing but Netflix to keep them entertained.

However, Arlene admitted that her time in isolation was a "blessing in disguise" as she was allowed the luxury of having her roots touched up, so she could go back on television looking and feeling her best.

Arlene came clean about the luxury of having her hair done, after GMB's Martin Lewis probed: "What happened in the storm? Where did they take you? Where you allowed to talk to anyone?

Susanna Reid also asked: "Did you get your phone back?"

Arlene responded: "We definitely didn't get our phones back. I wish! The only thing we had to watch was Netflix… no news, no family contact, nothing."

The Strictly star added: "We spent a day in the castle, we didn't know where we were going to go, what was going to happen, and then we were taken into isolation.

"We all had separate houses, there was some food waiting for us. We were totally isolated."

Arlene admitted that the few days alone in a house by herself was "great".

"I managed to get delivered my Josh Wood (root touch-up products) and I could do my roots and that was the biggest thrill of a lifetime, going back without my roots showing. Soo it was a good thing for me!"

Arlene added: "And then we went back into the castle, and we immediately got on with the job in hand."

The show returned to ITV last Tuesday following a three-day absence due to the damage done by Storm Arwen.

On Sunday night of the show, Arlene was the first contestant eliminated from Gwrych Castle after receiving the fewest public votes.

Speaking on her departure, she shared: "In a way relieved, I wanna see my family. But emotional because of everything this has been, the highs and the lows.

"It's something in my life I never imagined I would be doing and it's been extraordinary."
