An intruder was able to sneak into the I'm A Celebrity camp after breaching the show's security system.

The trespasser even said that they could have forced the ITV reality show to shut down and come "off air", North Wales Live reports.

That's because he would have broken the Covid bubble if he came into contact with any of the stars.

It is not the first time a security breach has been reported at the site this year, because last week as another intruder was caught by security near the camp.

During this security breach, the camp was empty because celebrities had been removed due to Storm Arwen leaving the set "badly damaged".

The man and his pal claimed they managed to for around 90 minutes before they were spotted by authorities.

The pair stole an inside look at the set and took pictures around the entire camp, showing sleeping bags on beds, the courtyard and the dunny.

One of the intruders, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were removed from the set after managing to get past the programme’s six-tier security system, which included police-approved bulletproof detection Armadillo robots.

The intruders claimed to have remained on site for around 90 minutes before being escorted off by security, and said they explored all areas of the camp.

Speaking to North Wales Live, one of the intruders said: "Myself and a friend managed to get into the set after a two hour hike over the mountain tops of the castle estate.

"I was unaware the celebs had been evacuated at the time we managed to get into the castle as I don't follow the show or the news on it, but was aware the weather had been bad on the night before due to the storm so didn't know what to expect.

"I'm slightly glad the celebs were not on set as I believe If we had managed to come into contact it could have forced the whole show off air as it would have breached the programme’s Covid bubble.

"Despite this, we remained on site for at least 90 minutes before actually getting spotted by any security but this was after we had explored the entirety of the campmates' quarters."

They managed to evade multiple security systems positioned around the site’s perimeters, which included several layers of high fencing, multiple patrolling guards and checkpoints where ID must be shown to get anywhere close to where this year’s celebrities are staying.

They also got past this year's additional security measure – Armadillo robots – which have automated sentries designed to detect and spook intruders with deafening alarms, blinding lights, and a camera.

A show source said: "This was such irresponsible behaviour to put themselves and the security team in during the storm.

"They were trespassing on private property and creating unnecessary risks."

It follows a separate incident where an intruder was removed from the set last week, before Storm Arwen hit.

Speaking about the latest incident, a spokesperson for the show said: "A security breach was identified during Storm Arwen and intruders were removed from the location with immediate effect.

"The safety of both our celebrities and our production crew remains our primary concern.”

Last year, videos of the I'm A Celebrity camp appeared on TikTok after two men used their “local knowledge” to climb up a tree overlooking the castle.

Security staff now shine bright torch beams into nearby trees to detect potential spies or intruders as part of an elaborate system of security around the Grade I-listed castle.

As well as several layers of steel fencing, patrolled by guards, anti-drone equipment has reportedly been deployed.
