Iceland has teamed up with Disney for its 2019 Christmas advert, inspired by the upcoming Frozen 2 movie.

The two-minute ad features characters from the much-loved franchise including Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and snowman Olaf, all voiced by the A-list cast.

The animation shows the characters coming to life during a game of charades as they discuss their favourite things about Christmas.

"Perfect Christmas Dinner, for the first time in forever," reads the tag line in a nod to one of the famous songs from the first movie.

Iceland's ad premieres ahead of the premiere of Frozen 2 on November 22.

It will air for the first time tonight at 8.15pm on ITV, during the last Coronation Street ad break.

It's expected the other big name supermarkets will release their promos in the next few days as the run-up to December 25 gets underway.

Last year's ad from Iceland was banned from television for being too political.

The supermarket went against the grain by creating a bleak cartoon advert highlighting the plight of the orangutan as rain forests continue to be destroyed for palm oil .

Watchdog Clearcast would only allow it to be showed on social media over concerns "it didn't comply with the political rules".
