Helen Skelton began her career as a Blue Peter presenter from 2008 until 2013. However, since then the 38-year-old has become a well-known face on BBC One’s Countryfile, and earlier this year she co-presented Summer on a Farm with Escape to the Country star Jules Hudson. She has also appeared on Holiday Hit Squad and The Instant Gardener. In a recent interview with Express.co.uk, the mum-of-two spoke about the challenges of working and her family life.

Despite leading a hectic lifestyle with presenting various programmes, Helen admitted over the years she has become before “efficient” with balancing work and being a mum.

She began: “I think I’m really lucky and people say ‘Oh, you’re always busy with work’ and I’m like ‘No, the difference is when I’m at work you see me because it’s on TV.’

“So, it has been 10 years now, so I’d like to think I’ve become efficient.

“I’m very protective with my family time, and I work with people who get it.”

She continued: “I probably should get my nails done more. I should go to the gym more.

“But I work two to three times a week and I am a mum so that’s enough for the minute.”

Helen is mother to Ernie, six, and four-year-old Louis, with her husband and rugby star Richie Myler.

Earlier this week, the BBC presenter announced she was expecting her third child.
