A LUCKY Good Morning Britain viewer broke down in tears today when she won £3,000 in the competition.

The overwhelmed fan, Alexandra, also sent her love to Kate Garraway while on air after clearly being left stunned by the huge prize.

Competition host Andi Peters struggled to get hold of any winners this morning, with social worker Alexandra the FIFTH person he phoned in an attempt to give away the cash.

As Andi revealed why he was calling, the viewer gasped before exclaiming: "You've got to be kidding me, oh my god, I can't believe it – you're actually kidding me?"

While the studio cheered and gold confetti fell down onto Andi as he chatted to the winner, Alexandra's voice cracked as she tried to fight back tears.

Alexandra repeatedly thanked Andi for the prize, and he asked if the £3000 will make a difference to her life.

Taking deep breaths, Alexandra replied: "You have no idea, you have no idea."

She continued: "Thank you, thank you – I love you.

"And my regards to Kate Garraway."

Andi, and studio hosts Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh, thanked Alexandra for the well-wishes, with the presenters clearly touched by Alexandra's emotional display.

Andi reassured her: "We will send Kate your love, of course we will."

By the time she said goodbye, Alexandra was sobbing – with the hosts glad that they "waited" for the right winner.

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate has had a difficult few months after her husband Derek fell ill with coronavirus back in March.

He was rushed to intensive care and put into a coma, with the star keeping fans updated via social media and interviews during "the most difficult time of her life".

Last month, Derek started to show signs of improvement but Kate has said that there is still a long way to go.

She bravely returned to work on Good Morning Britain last week, and revealed that Derek had been able to watch her from his hospital bed.
