Dr Hilary, 66, was once again on hand to offer some medical expertise on Good Morning Britain today, joining Piers Morgan, 55, and Susanna Reid, 49, from 6am, then going on to speak with Lorraine Kelly from 9am. The medical professional spoke about the latest updates on the coronavirus crisis, discussing matters such as children returning to school and touching on the summer health issue of hay fever. However, with some of the UK lockdown touching on summer holidays, the ITV presenter shut down the idea viewers would be able to enjoy the sun abroad as early as next month, stating “it’s too soon” to be returning to normal.

It was announced last month by Home Sectary, Priti Patel, 48, once travel to foreign countries was permitted, people coming back from places outside the UK would need to quarantine once back in the country.

Airlines have expressed their concern for the industry if such measures were implemented, suggesting air bridges between countries where the number of coronavirus cases is lower.

However, there was some confusion earlier this week when Health Secretary Matt Hancock, 41, seemed to suggest a U-turn was on the cards.

In one of the daily briefings, the senior minister said the government was already considering to relax guidelines when travelling aboard.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, is still pressing ahead with the Home Secretary’s plans, however, and Dr Hilary agreed, telling viewers in his mind travelling abroad for holidays is still something which needs great consideration.
