Gardeners’ World: Monty Don shows off tribute to his dog
The latest series of Gardeners’ World came to an end in 2020 but at the start of this year, the BBC Two aired two special episodes filled with highlights. Viewers were thrilled to see Monty Don back on TV screens with his late dog Nigel also making an appearance. But with a short wait on their hands until the next series, viewers expressed their sadness on Twitter.
After the second highlights episode came to an end, Monty explained the series would return in March after a short break.
“I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got time for this week,” Monty told viewers.
“But Gardeners’ World will be back with a brand new series in March.”
The series has not been on air for two weeks now and fans are desperate for Monty and his dogs Pattie and Nellie to return.

Taking to Twitter to share their despair, one fan posted: “My 9 year old just asked why we weren’t watching
@TheMontyDon as it’s Friday night.
“Our Friday night rituals in lockdown need him back… The 2 week recap of @GWandShows was so lovely.”
The tweet, which was shared by the official BBC Gardeners World Twitter account attracted a lot of attention.
Another fan replied: ”Can’t wait for the return! It is a window of serenity these days!”

It comes after it was recently revealed Monty’s real name is Montagu but his wife Sarah hates it.
Writing in his book The Jewel Garden, he explained: “My real name was Montagu and family and real friends still always called me that.”
He added his wife Sarah has “never ever” called him Monty though while his grandfather thought it was “absurd”.
Gardeners’ World returns to BBC Two in March.
