The creators of TV’s famous ‘Creature Comforts’ ads have released a brand new clip for The National Lottery’s 25th birthday and its £2million #CelebrateNationalLottery25 fund.
The uplifting promo – which features a character voiced by stand-up comedian James Acaster – reveals how £2million is now up for grabs for people to apply for funding to make a real difference in their communities.
#CelebrateNationalLottery25 offers anyone the chance to receive £1,000 to make their idea a reality.

The brilliant new animated clip (below) has been beautifully made by the team from Aardman – creators of popular films and shows including Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run and Shaun The Sheep – and the popular Creature Comforts adverts and nature shows.
It shows what a diverse range of people would do if they had £1,000 to use in their community.
Director of the film, Aardman’s Peter Peake, said: “I’m so proud that we were able to use Aardman’s style to depict a real cross section of characters from across the UK and show how, despite all our quirkiness and little idiosyncrasies essentially, we’re all united through common goals.”
Award-winning comic James Acaster – who voices a youngster in a hoodie – said it was a privilege to support the fund. He added: “This film embraces the diversity in our local communities and highlights the importance of coming together as neighbours, so I hope it inspires lots of people to seek funding for their idea.”
It’s been 25 years since the UK started playing The National Lottery – and we’ve all been winners as a result. Each week, National Lottery players help to raise around £30m for good causes across the UK.
And thanks to National Lottery players, more than £40 billion has been raised for good causes in the areas of arts, sport, heritage and community in that time.
