Emmerdale has revealed the truth about Al Chapman’s death in a major twist, with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) telling Moira (Natalie J Robb) that his son Kyle (Huey Quinn) killed the businessman.

Cain is in prison, having pleaded guilty to the murder of his long term enemy but tonight, he was forced to drop a massive bombshell as Moira explained how recent events were impacting the kids.

Cain had lured Al to a barn to confront him over his affair with Chas (Lucy Pargeter).

He had armed himself with a gun, but soon made it clear that he had no intention of using it.

What followed was a fist fight, but when the gun then went off, Al has killed and Cain promptly arrested and charged.

At the time, viewers did not see what transpired, and suspicious behaviour from Cain through the week triggered theories that he hadn’t been the one to kill Al.

It has not yet been explained by the show how 10-year-old Kyle ended up in the barn, or the circumstances of the shooting, so there are a lot of questions to be answered in an exciting week to follow.

With Cain jailed, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) was concerned with Kyle, who was full of apologies.

When he told her that Cain had said he was now the man of the house, Amy hid her unease and confusion at this.

Visiting in prison, Moira tore a strip off her husband, asking him if it was worth throwing everything away.

Cain was immediately on guard when Moira mentioned what this was doing to Kyle.

She told him that he had trashed his room and was behaving just like his dad but when Moira then brought up the possibility of taking him to see a therapist, Cain insisted that she doesn’t.

The only way to stop her from doing so was to blurt out the truth – Kyle killed Al.

How will Moira deal with the news? And will Cain take the fall and spend years in prison to protect his son?
