Congratulations are in order for Jay Kontzle, as the Emmerdale star has welcomed his third child.
Jay and his wife Mimi are now a family of five, as his two eldest – KaiBo, six and Zian, four – now have a newborn sibling.
The TV star, who plays Billy Fletcher in the ITV soap, is yet to reveal his little one’s name or sex, but confirmed that they were born on Friday (November 18).
He made the announcement with an adorable picture of KaiBo and Zian standing either side a woven basket, wearing adorable smiles as they placed loving hands on the baby inside.
The newborn lay peacefully underneath a cosy blanket and it seems they’re already a fan of cartoons, as the TV in the background played a children’s channel.
Speaking to Ok! magazine following the birth, Jay joked that he hopes they’re done expanding their brood now.
‘We’re excited to announce that on Friday, November 18 we were blessed with our third child. Mummy did amazing and both her and the baby are healthy and well’, the couple confirmed.
‘Here’s hoping it’s our last!’, the actor laughed.
Artist Mimi’s due date was at the end of November, but their little bundle of joy made an early appearance, as she was induced last Wednesday.
Jay and Mimi married six years ago and announced in July this year that they were expecting another child.
Speaking to Ok! earlier this year, the soap star revealed that baby number three wasn’t exactly planned.
‘Mimi called me during my lunch break on set and told me,’ the 32-year-old shared.
‘I was sitting eating lunch in the sun and all of a sudden I went hot and started dripping with sweat. I was a bit shocked!
‘Before that, Mimi had said she wanted to get a pregnancy test and I said, “A pregnancy test? That’s a lot of money that, especially with the cost of living going up”.’
Mimi, also 32, was apparently ‘so casual’ while dropping the bombshell, while Jay was freaking out.
But, they’re excited to watch their baby grow up, describing it as ‘a great thing to be going through again.’
