Dani Dyer is joining her real life dad Danny Dyer on screen as she prepares to join the cast of EastEnders.

The 24 year old will make her debut on the hit BBC One soap — where 43 year old Danny plays Mick Carter — next month.

Love Island winner Dani will star as a taxi driver on the show but, to the dismay of fans, has not been cast as an ongoing character.

She has previously starred alongside her dad in movies such as Vendetta, Run For Your Wife, Doghouse and The Other Half, but will be their first time sharing the small screen together.

A source told The Sun of Dani's latest gig: "Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other.

"Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won't be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street.

"But it's only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character."

Dani has previously revealed that she had auditioned for the long running soap before turning to reality TV, saying: "They wouldn't let me in it.

"I think it's because my dad is already on it, so if I went on it, there would be a massive outrage."

Back in 2019, Danny revealed that his daughter had in fact starred in hundreds of episodes of EastEnders without stepping one foot in Albert Square.

In a video on the official EastEnders Twitter account, Danny gave viewers a backstage tour of the Queen Victoria pub.

Heading to the bedroom his character shares with wife Linda, Danny pointed out that Dani features in one of the framed family photos.

He said: "They ask us to bring photos of when we were young, back in the day.

"That's my little Dani there when she was maybe… three? But of course I brought it in because it could be possibly Nancy, played by Maddy Hill."

More recently, Dani shared a glam snap of herself enjoying the bank holiday weekend with a tipple in hand.

In the photo, Dani wears a frilly white playsuit and stands in the kitchen with a glass of wine in front of her, with her blonde locks curled at the ends and a smokey-eye makeup look.
