Michelle (played by Kym Marsh) has been at the centre of an epic revenge plot in the lead up to Christmas on Coronation Street, having exposed former fiancé Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) as a love rat. Part of her plans saw her steal their business from under him, as well as attempting to frame him for the murder of his pregnant mistress, Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn). Spoilers for the ITV soap have already revealed the former Rovers Return barmaid will incidentally sell her restaurant empire to sleazy hotel owner Ray Crosby (Mark Frost), but could he use Alya (Said Khan) as a pawn in his games to mess with the vengeful bride-to-be?

The mother-of-two made an enemy of the ruthless businessman when he tried to make a pass at her in a hotel room some months ago; one she rejected as he made inappropriate advances.

Michelle also hasn’t got on too well with Alya, after the former Underworld Factory worker tried to rip the carpet from under the Connors feet when Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) died and left the business in his assistant’s name.

After giving back the family the knicker empire, the two women clashed again when they both vied for the events manager role Ray was recruiting for and when the former barmaid was knocked out the running due to her accusations, the hotel owner turned his attentions to her business rival.

With his hands on the deeds of the Bistro, could the sleazy character team up with his new employee to run the restaurant together and as she is dating Michelle’s son Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), will this be a huge betrayal on Alya’s behalf?

Teasing the lead up to her character’s departure from Weatherfield, actress Kym, 43, explained how the feisty mother reacts to the news of the sale.

“She’s really furious about that. She starts thinking this is just the worst possible outcome,” the soap star explained to press, including Express.co.uk.

“Of everybody who could have brought that Bistro, it’s him the slime ball.

“He was the last person she was expecting and then he turns up and she realises it’s him and she doesn’t take that news very well at all and contemplates trying to change things, all be it that it’s all too late and she can’t, but he’s the last person she would want to sell that Bistro to.”

Kym continued: “Michelle thinks: ‘I’m just going to smash the place up!’ She knocks everything off, throws things and smashes the place up.

“For her it’s everything mounting up – the events of Christmas Day, and everything afterwards.

“Michelle doesn’t even think that much about Ray as everything else is going on. She’s in a bad place at that point.”

With it clear the former barmaid isn’t happy with Ray taking over her business, could she be dealt another blow when he tells her Alya will be managing his new empire?
