Coronation Street fans have been quick to slam Daniel Osborne this week, as he plotted revenge on his love rival Ryan Connor after finally rumbling his affair with his fiancée Daisy Midgley.
As regular viewers will know, earlier this week Daniel stumbled upon a video recording which revealed Daisy and Ryan had slept together – despite Daisy having lied directly to her boyfriend’s face to say nothing had happened.
For weeks, Daniel had been suspicious about how close Daniel and Daisy were growing, as they bonded over the trauma of being involved in a life changing acid attack earlier this year, but when questioned about the subject, both had always categorically denied it.
However, since rumbling the illicit love affair, Daniel was determined to get revenge on Ryan, and even scuppered his prospects of a new job at a gym in Weatherfield, so that he would be forced to flee to Glasgow for another job instead.
In cruel scenes, Daniel headed to the potential employer and revealed that Ryan had previously been dosing himself with steroids, so that the company swiftly withdrew the job offer after not wanting to deal with the PR headache.
Fans at home couldn’t help but slam Daniel for his actions, particularly as he was only willing to target Ryan after apparently “forgiving” instigator Daisy without a second thought.
“Bit spiteful Daniel have it out with Daisy instead and find out what is wrong between you both,” wrote one fan on social media.
A second fan also agreed, as they added: “That’s mean Daniel he’s going to tell them about the steroid.”
Before a third fan weighed in and commented: “OMG Daniel what are you doing? I knew he'd do this try and sabotage Ryan's job.”
Several other fans also couldn’t help but hit out at Daniel for his hypocrisy too, as he previously embarked on a relationship with his late wife Sinead, while she was in a relationship – only to later cheat on her while she was dying!
“Daniel is forgetting him and Sinead only got together because she cheated on Chesney and then his thing with Bethany whilst she was dying,” wrote one disgruntled fan.
Meanwhile another viewer couldn’t quite get their head around why he would want to continue a relationship with a known cheat anyway, as they penned: “Can’t understand Daniel wanting to still be with Daisy after seeing the video. It’ll never work out, he’ll never forget she cheated…”
Although the couple did seem set to try and resolve their issues, not every fan is convinced it will have a happy ending, as one fan predicted Daniel could soon be seeking revenge on Daisy after all.
“I wonder what Daniel has planned for Daisy?” Questioned one viewer.
Another viewer agreed adding: “If Ryan’s getting that sabotage, what will Daniel do to Daisy?”
“Daisy’s not getting away with this, it’s too easy,” added another.
