BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty made a cheeky dig at Carol Kirkwood to "try harder next time" in a goodbye on the show.

The news journalist and her co-presenter Charlie Stayt were back on the iconic red sofa this morning delivering viewers the latest news.


Carol Kirkwood also joined the dynamic duo to give the weather report.

As she wrapped things up, Carol's presentation seemed to leave Charlie amazed.

He remarked: "That is quite a weather forecast isn't it Carol?"

Carol then responded: "Thank you, Charlie, I am not sure if that is good or bad but I'll take it as a compliment thank you."

Things then took a cheeky turn when Naga got involved.

Charlie who had to think about this question for a short while, said: "Well it was more of a…

"I wasn't really talking about your delivery of the weather I was just saying that is a lot of weather."

Carol then jokingly told Charlie that she deliberately "twisted" it around to her "benefit" but it "backfired".

Naga then teased Carol by taking a playful swipe at her, telling her to "try harder next time" before signing off her report.

The BBC Breakfast star quipped: "Well because he didn't say it was you, did he? He said it was the weather he was impressed with.

"Never mind Carol, try harder next time when we see you next time, how is that?"

Carol awkwardly chuckled before thanking Charlie and Naga and saying goodbye.
