BAKE Off fans all had the same complaint about Matt Lucas' comment on last night's show.

Tuesday's episode saw the remaining bakers tackle dishes that would be suitable for vegans and people with dietary issues in Free From Week.

As well as a vegan sausage roll technical, they had to make dairy-free ice cream sandwiches and a gluten-free showstopper.

However, some viewers were not impressed when host Matt joked that being gluten-free was the "vagaries and fripperies of fashion".

Taking to Twitter, one enraged GBBO viewer wrote: "Gluten free isn't the 'vagaries and fripperies fashion', Coeliacs have no choice and any gluten makes us seriously ill, it can lead to stomach cancer among other things.

"It's certainly not for fashion Matt Lucas."

Another added: "Though coeliacs have to eat gluten-free out of medical necessity not choice or fashion @RealMattLucas @Coeliac_UK."

A third tweeted: "I'm not enjoying the snide comments about free-from food in tonight's Bake Off. I generally don't need free-from food (except for meat free) but know enough people with allergies and intolerances to know it's not 'the vagaries of fashion'."

While a fourth wrote: "Talking about free from food on bake off like most people are *choosing* to be gluten free or dairy free when most of us have dietary requirements and don’t want to be sick of one kind or another."

In the end, it was Lizzie who became the latest baker to be sent home from the famous tent.

The 28-year old said: "I feel really proud of myself, I’m really happy I’m a quarter finalist.

" I was so pleased to get to where I did, and the bakers that made it to the semi-final truly deserve to be there. These are happy tears."

The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
