Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has been forced to cancel the finale episode in Florida due to the coronavirus.

The comedy duo were set to fly alongside 300 fans as they gave away tickets for the once in a lifetime trip to Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida to show’s viewers and guests to celebrate the final episode of the series.

Tickets are handed out during a Place on the Plane segment on their live Saturday night show throughout the series.

But, their plans have now been halted after the park has announced the decision to close its doors.

A statement from ITV read: "We will no longer be broadcasting the Saturday Night Takeaway finale from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

“Walt Disney World has made the decision to close, beginning on Monday 16 March until the end of the month.

“The wellbeing of all our prize winners, as well as our production team, is always our number one priority.

“All recipients of a ‘Place on the Plane’ prize will have their prizes honoured and flown by Virgin Holidays for a five-night stay at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida at such later date when it is practical for Virgin Holidays and Walt Disney World Resort to fulfil the prize.”

Disney World Orlando were forced to close for a month after 42 cases of coronavirus were reported in Florida.

The show isn’t the only programme to be rocked by the coronavirus, as the new series of Love Island could be postponed after the virus has swept Spain.

A source exclusively told OK! online how precautions were being taken and contingency plans put in place because of the coronavirus.

They said: “The problem with coronavirus is that we don’t know for how long it is going to affect everything.

“At the moment the Love Island team is still going through the audition process and trying to find the right people to put in the villa.

“But it could all be for nothing if the country gets put on lockdown and that’s before we even start looking at the Spanish government.”

The insider continued: “There’s more coronavirus deaths in Spain than here in England, so it may not really be safe or advisable to fly people out there.

“With the way that it’s going everywhere else in the world I wouldn’t rule out cancelling the summer Love Island altogether.

“The Premier League makes a lot more money than Love Island does, and that has been suspended already, as has the NBA which as we know is a billion-dollar industry.”
