Avengers: Endgame was the end of the line for quite a few fan favorites in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sacrificed themselves, while Captain America (Chris Evans) retired at the end of the film. Marvel will introduce a host of new characters in Phase 4 of the MCU, and fans believe that another Endgame hero is about to conclude their journey as well.

Marvel is moving in a new direction in Phase 4

With so many of the original Avengers out after the events of Avengers: Endgame, fans are convinced that it is only a matter of time before Marvel gets rid of the rest of the team. As things currently stand, the only original superheroes moving forward are Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

Thor has a fourth solo film, Thor: Love and Thunder, inthe works, while Hawkeye is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series, Hawkeye.

Hulk’s future, meanwhile, remains up in the air as Marvel has yet to secure movie rights for the character. There has been plenty of talk about Ruffalo reprising the role in the future TV series, She-Hulk, but Marvel has yet to confirm these rumors.

The studio is also introducing new characters in Black Widow, The Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Some of these heroes will undoubtedly become the new faces of the MCU, leaving fans to wonder what will happen to the rest of the original Avengers.

This ‘Avengers: Endgame’ hero will get the ax in Phase 4

The first movie in Phase 4 of the MCU, Black Widow, doesn’t hit theaters until November, so most of the rumors about character exits are pure speculation at this point. Even still, fans are convinced that Hawkeye will be the next hero to get the ax.

According to EpicStream, fans have theorized that Hawkeye will pass the torch to hisdaughter, Kate Bishop, in the upcoming show. After that takes place, Hawkeyewill respectively leave the MCU, though it is unclear if Marvel will kill himoff or just end his story in a fitting way.

In the comics, Kate plays an important role in the YoungAvengers, so introducing her in Hawkeye makes a lot of sense. Althoughit will be sad to see Renner go, fans have waited a long time to see the YoungAvengers on the big screens.

Unfortunately, Marvel has not revealed when Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+, so details about the project remain slim. The studio has already pushed back all of its movie projects because of the coronavirus pandemic, so there’s no telling when Hawkeye will premiere on the streaming service.

Everything we know about ‘Hawkeye’

Although the premiere date remains up in the air, ComicBook is reporting that Marvel is getting ready to start productionon Hawkeye. The series was originally supposed to start filming inSeptember, and it looks like that schedule is still on time barring any furtherdelays.

Last summer, the Avengers: Endgame star confirmed his involvement in the series and also revealed that his character’s daughter will play an important role in the show. Sources claim that Marvel wants Hailee Steinfeld to play the part of Kate, though nothing official has been announced.

The Hawkeye news comes after Marvel was forced to delay production on Falcon and the Winter Soldier. That show was due to hit Disney+ in August but has yet to resume filming.

It is unclear if Hawkeye will appear in any future movies in theMCU or if his story will wrap up in the show. Either way, it sounds likeanother member of the original Avengers squad is about to call it quits.

The next film in Marvel’s lineup, Black Widow, is due to premiere in theaters in November followed by The Eternals, which will be released next February.
