A PLACE IN THE SUN host Danni Menzies was left shocked after discovering how a couple on the show first met.

During Thursday's rerun of the Channel 4 show, property expert Danni, 32, was joined by couple Darrell and Jo as they searched for their dream holiday home in Menorca, Spain.

With a budget of £300,000, Danni set about finding them the perfect property in the sun-soaked location.

But the host was also interested in finding out more about the pair's romance and how they first met, and so started doing some digging.

Danni was shocked to discover the backstory to their romance, with the couple admitting sparks flew after they met at work.

"How long have you guys been together?" Danni asked them as they viewedproperty number two.

"We’ve been together eight years," Jo answered, prompting Danni to question further: "Eight years, how did you meet?"

"Darrell was actually my boss," Jo replied, leaving the Channel 4 host gobsmacked.

"Was he?!" Danni responded before the pair gave further details about the beginnings of their romance.

"Was it love at first sight?" Danni asked, to which Jo told her: "I was actually quite scared of Darrell when I first met him."

Appearing shocked at Jo’s surprise response, a gobsmacked Danni questioned: "How can you be scared of Darrell?!"

Jo explained: "He had this huge laugh and you could hear him as soon as he came into the building.

"On the ground floor (you could hear) this booming laugh and booming voice, and I thought, 'Oh, my goodness.'"

"But I soon got to know him and it was fine," Jo added, to which Danni joked: "He’s not very scary now," promoting the trio to erupt into laughter.

Earlier this month, Danni showed off her jaw-dropping body in bikini in Corfu as she jetted off on holiday during a break from the show.

The stunning presenter modelled an array of swimwear as she shared pictures of her emerging from the blue sea before posing on the beach with her arms outstreteched.

She captioned the snaps: "Sunday sizzle Bikini."

Needless to say, she was inundated with comments from her 74million Instagram followers who declared she looked "gorgeous."

Danni returned to work last month saying: "A moment I know we’ve all been waiting for ?? .

"I feel so grateful to get travel with work after the last year, getting to the beach for just a few hours was pretty special and after raving about Kefalonia since my last visit with @aplaceinthesunofficial I’m over the moon it’s my first stop back on the road."
