RAFAEL FIZIEV appeared to enter the MATRIX on Saturday night after pulling off an incredible evasive manoeuvre against Marc Diakiese.

The Kyrgyzstani UFC star, 27, ultimately won his Fight Island clash against his fellow lightweight.

But he had his lightning-quick reflexes to thank after an astonishing feat of acrobatics saw him avoid a certain KO.

During the brawl on the undercard of the Deiveson Figueiredo vs Joseph Benavidez fight, Diakiese aimed a monster kick in the direction of Fiziev.

With milliseconds to spare, Fiziev threw himself backwards to avoid the powerful kick from his opponent.

The move was met with gasps from the commentators, who likened his move to something from The Matrix.

Fiziev would ultimately win via decision following three gripping rounds.

And it's not the first time a fighter has pulled off the seemingly impossible, either.

In June 2019, 6ft 9in boxing star Tyson Fury showed off his rapid reflexes while building up to his fight with Tom Schwarz.

His Matrix-like move even left Conor McGregor impressed.

At the time, Notorious tweeted: "This is what fully committed pad work looks like. Amazing!

"Welcome to The Mac Life 'Gypsy King' Tyson Fury!

"Leading the game from all angles. Enjoy Sin city my man we are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time.

"Atta boy Tyson, the number 1 HW boxer of this era."
