A BASEBALL fan in the United States achieved hero status when catching a foul ball while holding his BABY.

The magic moment happened during Philadelphia Phillies' MLB game against Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

When Arizona hitter Nick Ahmed skied a ball into the stands, there appeared to be nothing special happening.

However the camera quickly panned to a man as he took his seat with the ball in his hand.

Replays showed the fan standing up immediately having spotted the trajectory of the shot.

Amazingly, he took the catch one handed with his baby comfortably held by his other arm.

And fans around him at Citizens Bank Park roared with delight once the catch was taken.

He then posed for a photo with the ball and his child, who adorably reached out for it while they posed.

There appears to be something of a theme around Super Dads this summer.

During a match between Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels last month, a man managed to hold onto a catch while his child and BEER stayed safe in his clutch.

Fans found it hilarious that his young son appeared oblivious to the staggering scenes going on around him.
