THERE was no rest for Carabao Cup champions Manchester City as they returned to training just hours after their dominant 3-0 win over hopeless Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva scored the goals to gift Pep Guardiola his first piece of silverware as City chief.


But if the Spaniard's star squad thought they'd be allowed a breather, they were in for a shock on Monday morning.

The players and staff only landed back in Manchester in the early hours of Monday morning, but they were thrown straight into training that very afternoon.

But the City stars seemed happy enough, for obvious reasons, as they prepare to take on Arsenal again… this time in the Premier League on Thursday night.

During the session, players were put through their paces with some light jogging and a training game… as Kyle Walker opted to leap onto Kevin De Bruyne's back during the easy-going afternoon.



Earlier in the day, City looked somewhat downcast after fans failed to greet them at the airport after their cup victory.

Blue barriers were set up at Manchester Airport in anticipation of supporters swarming to meet their heroes.
