TOTTENHAM were BOOED off at half-time after a shocking first half performance which saw them fall two goals behind visitors Newcastle.

Callum Wilson opened the scoring after a howler by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman made a mess of his touch before colliding with Wilson.

The Magpies forward then lifted the ball into the empty net while Lloris claimed for a foul.

Despite Spurs' protests, the goal stood after a VAR check.

In-form Miguel Almiron then doubled Newcastle's lead, firing low into the far left corner.

Lloris, again, was at fault, with his goal-kick falling short.

And as the half-time whistle went at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Antonio Conte's men were met with a chorus of boos.

Defeat to Newcastle would spell an end to Spurs' eight-game unbeaten run at home.

It would also be Tottenham's second loss on the bounce, having fallen to a defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday.
