Not everybody was on board with Stephen Curry’s message about mask-wearing.

The NBA shared a video on Facebook on Monday featuring Curry donning a black Under Armour mask. In the video, the two-time MVP urged fans to continue to wear masks and socially distance in order to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The video is part of the league’s NBA Together campaign, aimed at engaging and supporting fans during the pandemic.

“I want to encourage you to continue to practice social distancing,” Curry said in the video. “Being safe and precautious every step of the way, but most of all continue to wear a mask. It’s extremely important in terms of stopping the spread of this virus, in terms of protecting yourself and others.”

Some commenters disagreed with the sentiment, however, calling into question the legitimacy of the preventative measures.

“The mask is not good for your health!” commenter Jason Lansdell wrote. The comment received 107 likes and 41 replies, one of the top comments on the post.

“For the record the word ‘social distancing’ doesn’t even make sense,” Mac Johnson said.

As of Wednesday, the United States has reported over three million coronavirus cases and 131,329 deaths.
