THE biggest match of the season so far in Scotland is just minutes away as Rangers take on Celtic at Hampden with the Viaplay Cup trophy on the line.

The Old Firm meet on the big stage with both sides desperate to secure the first trophy of the season.

It's the first time the Glasgow rivals have come head-to-head in a cup final since 2019, when the Hoops triumphed 1-0 in the Betfred Cup thanks to a controversial Christopher Jullien winner.

Both teams come into the tie on the back of some excellent form, but something will have to give today.

Michael Beale is unbeaten as Rangers manager since his appointment in November, but Celtic have been relentless under Ange Postecoglou and they haven't let slip at all either.

That's seen them maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

But this isn't league business, it's a one-off clash and the competition will be decided at Hampden.

It promises to be a clash for the ages, and SunSport has all the key details ahead of this weekend's showdown.

"It's got a lot of goals in this team, it's got a lot contiunuity as well and I'm trusting these boys to get the job done today."
