OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has revealed he visits Roy Keane's house to listen to his ex-Manchester United skipper's words of wisdom over a cuppa.

The Red Devils boss claims the pair are "quite close" and that he values his former team-mate's opinion very highly.

Although Keane's Old Trafford career was abruptly ended by a fallout with Sir Alex Ferguson in 2005, his bond with Solskjaer, 46, was strong enough to persist.

And the Norwegian boss now often turns to the Irishman for advice in his quest to rebuild the United squad.

Even though the former United captain is well-known for his criticism of the Red Devils stars while appearing on TV as a pundit.

But Solskjaer has said he has not been put off by his pal's honesty and trusts his opinion.

He told the Mail: "I keep in touch with Roy and have been at his house for a cup of tea.

"I always listen to Roy and his opinions. I value them very highly.

"I know Roy did an interview saying there are many people that claim to be his friends.

"But I feel we are quite close. We have become friends. He was a fantastic leader. I loved having him as captain"

Keane, 47, often came up with harsh words for the flopping United players last season

In April, he warned Solskjaer that there were "too many bluffers" in his squad.

The Irishman added they could easily throw the Norwegian gaffer under the bus – just as they had done with Jose Mourinho.

And shortly before the Portuguese manager was sacked, he said that selling Paul Pogba "wouldn't be a big deal".

However, Keane was voted the Premier League's best ever captain by SunSport readers – ahead of John Terry and Vincent Kompany.
