ALLAN SAINT-MAXIMIN caused nothing but headaches for Manchester United – and Toon fans hailed the winger for his performance.
Winger Saint-Maximin started on the left at St James’ Park and was a constant nuisance for United’s right side of defence.
The 22-year-old forward started an attack that led to Matty Longstaff’s piledriver that sealed Newcastle a famous win.
And fans on Twitter hailed the winger for his menacing display – insisting he is one to watch this season.
One said: “Saint-Maximin absolute live wire and direct. Could be a key player for Newcastle this season.”
Another said: “Saint Maximin been absolutely class for Newcastle. Deserve to win this.”
One added: “Saint-Maximin looks quality.”
Saint-Maximin was unpredictable throughout the game shuffling in and out of the left wing.
The winger laid it out to Jetro Willems on the left wing, who cut in and assisted Longstaff who capped off his debut with a winning goal.
Saint-Maximin, playing with a Gucci headband with the logo covered up, was replaced by Christian Atsu after 82 minutes – to the relief of United’s back line.
Pressure mounts on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with his Reds now down 12th, while Toon boss Steve Bruce secures his first managerial win against his ex-side.
