MANCHESTER UNITED fans have begged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign John McGinn after he scored a superb goal against Spurs earlier today.

SunSport exclusively revealed in June that Red Devils chiefs were preparing a £50MILLION bid for the Aston Villa ace.

McGinn, 24, put Villa 1-0 up after Tyrone Mings launched the Scot with a long pin-point ball early in the first half.

The workaholic midfielder instantly left Davinson Sanchez way behind following a spectacular solo run.

He then sent Danny Rose to the ground with a cheeky fake shot before beating Hugo Lloris at his far post.

And delirious United fans took to Twitter, calling on club chiefs to eventually get their man.

One user wrote: "John McGinn is a future United player."

While another said: "Ferie wanted United to buy McGinn, looks a player we could have doe with this season."

A third wrote: "McGinn class, can't wait until he's playing for United."

And one added: "John McGinn is a player. Scottish excellence."

But even if United come back with an offer for McGinn in January, it might now prove difficult to lure him away from Villa Park.

Despite Sir Alex Ferguson lobbying hard for Solskjaer to land the midfielder, he has just signed a new five-year deal with the Birmingham side.
