JAMES MADDISON and Jack Grealish are on Manchester United’s summer radar in a £160million swoop.

SunSport’s Midlands football reporter GRAEME BRYCE took a close-up look at both — and what they would bring to Old Trafford.

GOAL-SCORING

GREALISH: Dean Smith has finally unlocked the star’s scoring potential — bagging nine and seven in the Prem.

Instead of collecting the ball at the edge of his own penalty area, Smith wanted a Jack in the Box at the opposite end.

His right-foot curler at Old Trafford won’t be forgotten in a hurry but he’s scoring some scruffy ones too 7/10

MADDISON: Only Jamie Vardy has scored more goals for Leicester since Maddison arrived, not bad going for someone signed to supply the ammo for the Foxes striker.

Maddison has nine in total and six in the Premier League this season — but has been a threat over a longer period than Grealish 8

CREATIVITY

GREALISH: His elegance on the ball is as distinctive as the boy-band hair and half-mast socks. When Grealish is in possession, it generally ends in a chance or a foul.

He is two-footed, has flair to spare and turns opponents inside out with his swivel-hips. But timing of that killer pass could improve 8

MADDISON: It is no surprise Vardy’s having the season of his life.

Maddison has made 200 more passes than Grealish this season — and 158 more successful ones. He has also made 100 more passes than Grealish in the opposition half.

Most goals are scored inside the area and Maddison’s pass- completion rate into the box is an impressive 50 per cent – close to double Grealish’s 28 per cent 9
