ARSENAL will talk to Carlo Ancelotti about their vacant manger's role after the Italian was sacked by Napoli last night.

Until last night's Champions League win over Genk, the Italians had not won in nine games.

But the 4-0 win against the Belgians was not enough to save him and the ex-Chelsea boss was relieved of his duties just moments after the game.

And the news sparked Arsenal into action and Sun Sport revealed the Gunners will approach the 60-year-old to discuss the prospect of him taking the job.

Freddie Ljunberg is in temporary charge of the North Londoners and despite bagging his first win at the third time of asking – a 3-1 victory at West Ham on Monday night – he is unlikely to get the job on a permanent basis.

If Ancelotti – who is said to be open to a return to England – takes the job, he will need to make some serious changes to the squad who have managed just one win in their last ten games.

Arsenal's defence is an area of particular concern and a reunion with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly could be on the cards.
