PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have hit back at Zinedine Zidane's suggestions that Kylian Mbappe "dreams" of moving to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have long believed in an ambitious swoop for the Frenchman who, as a child, plastered his bedroom wall with Cristiano Ronaldo posters.

Zidane refused to rule out a bid earlier in the week and claimed: "[Mbappe] has always said it was his dream to play for Real Madrid."

That latest claim irked PSG sporting director Leonardo who described Real's mind games as "annoying" following the 1-0 win over Club Brugge.

The Brazilian told reporters: "Honestly, it's a bit irritating, it's annoying, it's not the first time this has happened.

"I think that now is not the time to talk about this.

Now is not the time to destabilise him.

"He is a player who has two-and-a-half years left on his contract with us, so to talk about what he wants, his 'dream', every time… If we can just stop this, pause this talk.

"Kylian is a very important player for us. Now is not the time to destabilise him."

With nine goals and four assists in his 11 appearances this season, Mbappe is as important to Les Parisiens as ever.

And following the summer's Neymar saga that saw the club's biggest name seek a return to Spain, they could do without similar noise around their other star forward.

However former Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev also believes Mbappe is destined for Real.

In an interview with AS, the Russian claimed he was told "Madrid will wait for me" by the youngster as he left Monaco for PSG.

Reports suggest Real's £258million bid for Mbappe could be rebutted with a £34.5m-a-year offer of a new contract from PSG.
