FRANK LAMPARD has delivered the news all Chelsea fans want to hear – N’Golo Kante will be playing in his proper position this season.

Kante established himself as one of the best midfield players in the world over three amazing seasons which saw him win two Premier League titles and the World Cup.

But former boss Maurizio Sarri left everyone stumped when he shoved the France star out of the holding role to make room for his favourite player Jorginho.

But on his first day in charge of Chelsea Lampard made it clear he wants to see Kante back where he belongs.

Asked if he will knows what he will do with the midfielder, Lampard said: “Yeah I do actually

“I’m not going to sit here and talk about the side next season, we are starting pre-season tomorrow.

“But I have said it before out loud, Kante is one of the greatest midfield players in the world, in the last few years his performances have been outstanding.

“One of the pleasures of me getting this job is I am able to work with players of his quality and my job is to find the best position to get the best out of him in the team.”

There seems little doubt Sarri’s decision to use Kante as a more advanced player will be reversed, with 28-year-old Kante switch back to his best position in the heart of the side.

Jorginho’s agent admitted last month he was waiting for the phone to ring from Juventus after Sarri quit Chelsea to take charge in Turin.

But the Italian international has since been left facing the prospect of having to stay on in the Premier League with Juve making it clear they had other targets this summer.
