FORMULA E have unveiled images of their brand new Gen2 EVO car which will be in action next season.
The futuristic vehicle sees FE switch to open wheels and introduce a new rear wing in a bid to make the car more sleek and agile.
FE have made huge changes to their current vehicle, which is a reformed version of the current Gen2 car.
The improved chassis is coupled with wholesale changes to the bodywork of the car which will be used by each team in the 2020/21 season.
The likes of Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Jaguar will have to get to grips with the new front wing, rear wing and the dorsal fin, which starts from behind the driver's cockpit.
Jaguar's team principle James Barclay said: "Formula E is constantly evolving and the introduction of the Gen2 EVO shows the collective ambition to keep pushing the boundaries of electric street racing.
"The introduction of this upgrade coincides with World Championship status for Formula E which will take the sport to the next level.
"The Gen2 EVO looks striking but the real work goes on under the bodywork. Panasonic Jaguar Racing is already working on our powertrain for next season and we look forward to sharing our concept livery in a couple of weeks.”
The car will continue to use all-weather road legal tyres which have been designed by Michelin to provide adequate grip in wet and dry conditions.
Founder and Chairman of Formula E Alejandro Agag says this futuristic design will go down in history.
He said: "The Gen2 already stands out as one of the most striking race cars to hit the track, and just as the name implies, the Gen2 EVO is another evolution of the distinctive design.
"This car will forever go down in the history books as the first to challenge for an ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
"Its futuristic design once again showcases Formula E as the category for innovation in both technological advances and appearance.”
