A SWISS football club has sparked a sexism storm by using a PORN picture to sell match tickets.

Swiss Super League outfit Servette FC hoped to boost ticket demand for Sunday's clash with Young Boys Berne with the stunt.

The Geneva club published a video screenshot taken from Pornhub on their Twitter account.

It shows a woman's nearly-bare bum as she climbs a staircase dressed in skimpy black lingerie with a Servette FC logo visible in the background.

And alongside the steamy pic, the club captioned the pic: "There's a rush on at the ticket office for Sunday's game."

The image is understood to have been taken at an erotica fair in Geneva in 2017.

Despite the witty intent, angry fans bombarded Servette with allegations of sexism, and complained the image could be seen by children.

But club spokesman Loic Luscher insisted: "We became aware of the video, and wanted to deal with it proactively.

"We thought it better if we put it on social media ourselves. We wanted to make people laugh.

"It's amusing that Servette have appeared on such a well-known website as Pornhub."

The club added in a statement: "The funny thing about the picture is our logo in the background.

"It makes no difference to us whether the person in the foreground is a man or a woman.

"Instead of taking offence at our logo appearing on this platform [Pornhub] we have chosen to have a laugh about it.

"We apologise to anyone we have offended."

Ex-Bradford defender Christopher Routis and Ross Country striker Alex Schalk play for Servette.

The newly-promoted football club sit seventh in the ten-team Super League.
