JOHN TERRY has stormed ahead of Frank Lampard as favourite to replace Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.
The Aston Villa assistant was a double-figure 12/1 to be appointed Crystal Palace's next permanent manager yesterday.

But less than 24 hours later – his odds have shifted to just 5/2 after being backed heavily in the betting market.
Betfair Spokesperson, Sam Rosbottom said: "John Terry could be about to step up to his first managerial role.
"And we have seen lots of interest in him heading to Crystal Palace, the South London side are now just 5/2 to be his next club."
His former Chelsea colleague Lampard was the leading contender at 8/5 but that price has drifted markedly to 11/4 overnight.
Former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is second in the betting market at 5/1 having left the Vitality Stadium in August.
Burnley's Sean Dyche, the long-time favourite, is firmly in the mix at 11/2 should he decide to leave Burnley after eight years in charge.

Further back at a double-figure price is Sunderland boss Lee Johnson at 14/1.
A return for Alan Pardew is available at 16/1 along with Manchester United first-team coach, Michael Carrick.
Talk of a change at Crystal Palace comes shortly after Hodgson admitted that he was in no rush to resolve his future with the club.
The 73-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract in South London, where he's been since replacing Frank de Boer in 2017.
However, the Eagles boss thinks he's got plenty left in the tank and suggested that he feels more than ready to carry on.
After victory over Newcastle earlier this week, Hodgson said: "I am more than comfortable with my situation at the moment.
"I don’t have any concerns or thoughts along those lines. I’m happy to take each day as it comes and enjoy the job that I have been doing and am able to continue doing.
"I don’t feel particularly old. I don’t wake up every day thinking about my age, far from it in fact. I’ve joked many a time that my age stopped many a year ago. But at the same time, I don’t have problems in terms of my future.
"I really am happy to see how it is going, and it seems that is how the club are happy to do it as well. I prefer to let them get on with the more important question at the moment, of making certain that there is going to be a good squad of players to work with next year.
"Then the day will come, perhaps, when we’ll sit down and make a decision as to whether or not I’ve got another year in me, whether they want another year from me, or whether I want to say, ‘thank you very much, it’s now time for me to head off into the hills.’"
