AC MILAN striker Patrick Cutrone is on his way to the UK to complete his £20million move to Wolves.

The 21-year-old left Milan’s pre-season training camp in the USA over the weekend to return home, before flying off again to complete a Wolves medical.

Reports in Italy say Cutrone has already said his farewells and told close friends he is excited about his move to Molineux, where he is expected to sign a five-year-deal.

The Italian arrives hard on the heels of Nuno Espirito Santo completing a year-long loan deal for Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo, who trained with his new team-mates for the first time today.

Cutrone’s 16 goals in 42 matches for Milan in 2017-18 earned him a full cap.

However, his form dipped last season as he netted just nine times in 43 appearances.

But he will provide Wolves with valuable competition, respite and cover for established strike pair Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez.

Santo's men are gearing up for a tough second season in the top flight after coming seventh last term, earning them a gruelling Europa League campaign.

But until now ex-Porto chief Santo has had a quiet transfer window.

Apart from signing last season's loan stars Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker on permanent deals, Vallejo is the only newcomer so far.

Finally, though, Santo is close to something of a coup as Cutrone was linked with Chelsea before their transfer ban.
