    The Irishman recalled: “From my own experience, I've had a fight with a player.

    “[It was with] Peter Schmeichel in a hotel. we were in the lobby, it was at 4 o'clock and there weren't many people around.

    “We got pulled by the manager and he said we were both a disgrace.

    “To be fair to Peter he apologised and we moved on. It never affected us as team-mates.

    “Also, when I hear about the PR side of [fights] and players having to apologise to the group… I don't get all that side of it.

    “If you've had a bust-up with somebody, why would you apologise to your team-mates?

    “It's all part of the game and generally speaking if players do have a bit of a bust-up they end up being fine afterwards because sometimes you've got to clear the air.

    “There's tension involved and players care.”

    And it has been claimed in Solskjaer's native Norway that the Old Trafford boss is now ready to force through a move after signalling to chiefs how much he is ready to pay.

    Haaland, who played under Solskjaer at Molde, has the Champions League theme tune as his morning alarm after becoming top scorer in the competition with seven goals.

    The Metro add that the wheels are now in motion for United to submit an official offer.
