  • LAY UP

Boss Mikel Arteta is set to complete the free transfer signing of Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa this summer.

The 27-year-old is out of contract then and was able to sign a pre-contract with clubs outside France this month.

Kurzawa is set to sign a five-year contract at the Emirates.

The Frenchman turned down a move to Italian giants Inter Milan to move to London.

It has been reported that he could have signed for £6million now but Arsenal will wait until the summer, according to France Football.

  • GUNNED DOWN

Gunners are in desperate need of transfer reinforcements with Mikel Arteta facing an injury crisis after Reiss Nelson hurt his hamstring in training.

The England winger, 20, pulled up during a session in the week and is missing from the squad for today's match against Sheffield United.

He has been replaced by Gabriel Martinelli in the side, while Sokratis misses out in defence through illness.

Shkodran Mustafi takes his place alongside David Luiz, while Bukayo Saka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are the full-backs.

  • GUNNER MAKE IT

Mikel Arteta is backing Reiss Nelson to reach his huge potential after claiming the Arsenal youngster was “confused” for a period but is over it.

He said: “If he wants to do it, wants to learn and wants to challenge himself he can be a top, top player for this football club.

“At the moment, I think he is on the right path. “I know Reiss because I coached him when he was 16 and straight away he caught my eye. He is a boy that is willing to learn and loves the game but I think he has been a little bit confused in the last few years, what direction he had to take, some of the decisions that he made.

“Now I can see that he really wants it and I think he has the potential to do whatever he wants.

“He needs guidance, he needs a little bit of a stick, and he's up for it. I put him in to play and I trust him because he wants it and I think he can deliver.”

  • THE GUNNERS are all set to make waves in the transfer market.

Arsenal are reportedly set to meet with the representatives of Athletico Paranaense star Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian club’s president Mario Celso Petraglia revealed the Gunners have been monitoring the 22-year-old midfielder.

And they will make their next move as Globoesporte report that Arsenal technical director Edu will hold talks with the players reps in London.

It is claimed the meeting will take place within the “coming days” and a potential Emirates contract will be discussed.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Tottenham are poised to pounce if Chelsea do not use their £40million buy-back option on Nathan Ake.

The Dutch defender, 24, has starred for the Cherries since leaving Stamford Bridge and the Blues have the option to secure a return.

But the Athletic claims Chelsea's scouting reports have left doubts over Ake's ability to make an impact for Frank Lampard's side.

  • NIASSE TO MEET YOU

Leeds have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Everton misfit Oumar Niasse on loan until the end of the season.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to recruit a striker after seeing back-up loanee Eddie Nketiah recalled by parent club Arsenal this month.

And Football Insider claim that Toffees chiefs are trying to offload their 29-year-old forward, whose contract is up at the end of the season, on the Elland Road club.

Niasse was summoned from the bench by Carlo Ancelotti with 16 minutes remaining in today's 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

But that was just the Senegal international's second appearance of the season.
