DANNY MILLS believes Everton signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace would be a “real statement”.
The 26-year-old Crystal Palace winger has been linked with Arsenal this summer.
But former England international Mills believes the Toffees would send out a huge message to their rivals by bringing the Ivory Coast ace to Goodison.
“It would be a real statement of intent to get somebody like Zaha.
“He can play up front as a centre forward, but he can also play out wide, creating and assisting.
“When you think it could be Zaha on one side, Richarlison on the other, they’ve then got the likes of Sigurdsson in behind, Bernard, [Andre] Gomes… They’ve got some really good players in and around that side.”
MONACO have contacted Arsenal over a possible move for Shkodran Mustafi.
That's according to L'Equipe, who claim the Ligue 1 side want to bring the defender back to France.
The 27-year-old was jeered by his own fans yesterday as Arsenal slumped to a 2-1 home to defeat to Lyon in the Emirates Cup.
The German came off the bench on 70 minutes and was met with loud boos from the home fans as he made his way onto the pitch.
The veteran is in the bad books with many after he refused to travel with the squad for their pre-season tour to the US as he attempted to secure a transfer out of North London.

The 27-year-old German international defender is under contract until 2021 and wants to stay in North London.
But according to BBC’s David Ornstein, Unai Emery wants him out either permanently or on loan in order to make room for new additions.
Monaco have been linked with a swoop for Mustafi, who arrived for £35m in 2016 from Valencia.
L’Equipe claim they were told by the Gunners he would cost them £27m.
DANI CEBALLOS has praised Arsenal icon Santi Cazorla as he claims he is one of Spain's best midfielders.
Cazorla starred for Villarreal last season following his release by the Gunners after battling a long-term injury.
Speaking of the 34-year-old, Ceballos said: “I think Cazorla is one of Spain’s best midfielders… the level he played at last year after coming back from a really serious injury that just wouldn’t go away.
“I really think you have to take your hat off to him.”
