  • MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly been scouting Lyon star Moussa Dembele as they look to solve their striker shortage.

The Red Devils lost Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the summer window and failed to replace either.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have now been punished after injuries to Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford left them severely lacking in firepower.

Now the Daily Mail claim the Red Devils had ex-Celtic forward Dembele, 23, watched as he scored in yesterday’s draw with Brest and against PSG on Sunday.

And they also had talent spotters in the stands to see him in Champions League action last week against Zenit.

The hotshot, who came through the ranks at Fulham, already has six goals to his name this campaign and is the top scorer in Ligue 1.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED players gave Axel Tuanzebe a standing ovation when he was made captain.

The 21-year-old was given the armband for the EFL Cup win against his hometown Rochdale this week in a shock move from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Tuenzebe was not expecting to lead the team out until assistant boss Mike Phelan told him before kick-off to head to the referee’s room for the captain’s meeting.

According to Old Trafford sources, Tuanzebe got a round of applause from his team-mates when he returned to the dressing room.

  • JOSE MOURINHO features in a hilarious new advert – mocking some of his most controversial moments.

The Paddy Power commercial is all about the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager and his 'The Special One' moniker.

But rather than egotistically reeling off all his achievements, the ad pokes fun at some of the times he has caused stirs over the last 15 years in football – and there have been a fair few.
