FRANK LAMPARD's Chelsea are looking to end a dismal run of four losses in five games as they head to Jose Mourinho's Spurs.

And off the pitch, the Blues are looking to strengthen their squad with Real Madrid duo Isco and Vinicius Jr.

But Chelsea could be set to lose Olivier Giroud to Inter Milan or Bordeaux, after becoming unhappy about his playing time.

  • GLENN HODDLE believes new Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is now at a bigger club than Chelsea.

Ex-England coach Hoddle says Spurs have a larger fanbase, a bigger stadium and superior training facilities than Mourinho’s old stomping ground in West London.

Hoddle is a rare commodity in that he has played for and managed both Spurs and Chelsea.

In a fascinating foreword to the book The Boss — Memories of Bill Nicholson to Jose, published this week, Hoddle said:“First of all we should all applaud the wonderful work of Mauricio Pochettino.

“If it wasn’t for the way he turned around Spurs then someone like Mourinho wouldn’t have given them a second glance.

“In fact, up until a couple of years ago, it would have been unimaginable to think of Mourinho at Spurs.

“So it’s a measure of how well Pochettino has built the team up that the club can attract a manager of Mourinho’s calibre and world standing.

“But it’s not only Pochettino. It’s the fact the club also now have a world-class training centre and a world-class stadium — all the ingredients to make Spurs an attractive proposition for Mourinho.

  • ROY KEANE is the greatest Premier League captain in history, according to SunSport readers.

On the back of Vincent Kompany announcing his departure from Man City after lifting the FA Cup back in May, we devised a poll asking readers to decide who wore the armband the best.

On the list were Arsenal's Tony Adams, Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Keane, Kompany, Wes Morgan, John Terry and Patrick Vieira.

Around 2600 people had their say and there was a resounding winner.

United's former hard man Keane took 36 per cent of the votes ahead of Terry in second who had 19 per cent.

Kompany, who won 10 major domestic trophies, was third followed by Gerrard, Vieira and Adams who all had 9 per cent of votes.

Ferdinand and Morgan were both at the bottom of the pile.

  • CHELSEA stars N'Golo Kante and Marcos Alonso travelled across the capital to watch the boxing on Thursday night.

The pair were in the audience for Richard Riakporhe's points victory against Jack Massey that won him the British cruiserweight title.

That was the headline fight on the card at the iconic York Hall in East London's Bethnal Green.

Both players will be hoping to feature for Chelsea on Sunday when the Blues travel to take on city rivals Tottenham.

But while Kante is all-but guaranteed a starting spot when fit in Frank Lampard's starting XI, Alonso's situation is very different.

The Spaniard, 28, has not featured for the Blues since November 5 when he was hooked at half-time in the dramatic 4-4 draw against Ajax.

  • FRANK LAMPARD lit the fuse ahead of their showdown by warning Jose Mourinho he will get dog’s abuse from Chelsea fans.

The love affair between a manager who turned the Blues into serial trophy winners and supporters who once adored him is long since dead.

And things will get even more spiky tomorrow when Mourinho hosts them as manager of bitter rivals Tottenham.

Chelsea boss Lampard said: “If you go to your fiercest rivals, fans will give the answer. That doesn’t mean they have forgotten the history or don’t respect it.

“Jose Mourinho is a manager who wants to work and took that opportunity.

“He won’t be too concerned, either. Look at the times he came back with Manchester United, it looked like he didn’t care back then.

“We know that it’s a huge rivalry. Probably, in my era, it became the biggest of the London derbies.”
