IF you’re looking for ways to entertain the kids under another Easter in lockdown, you could check out Tesco’s toy sale.
The supermarket has launched a massive sale and is flogging toys from Lego to Barbies for up to half price off.
Delighted shoppers have taken to social media to post about the deal.
One customer posted about the offer in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group when she went to her local branch.
The post received nearly a thousand likes and comments from Tesco shoppers, with one saying: “That’s a bargain.”
Tesco told The Sun that the sale is available both online and in stores, but you have to be a Clubcard member in order to get the cash off.
Tesco Clubcard customers will get the money off automatically if they’re ordering online.
If you’re shopping in store, hand over your Clubcard or fob at the checkout so the discount can be applied at the till.
However, Clubcard price deals are not available at Tesco Express stores.
You can apply to become a Tesco Clubcard member on the supermarket’s website.
As a Tesco Clubcard member, you can collect one point for every £1 you spend in store and online, or one point for every £2 you spend on fuel.
Tesco then turns your points into vouchers to spend, and 150 points will get you a £1.50 voucher.
Clubcard members will be able to get up to half price off toys until April 11, although some toys online will be on sale until April 14.
But before you splash out, make sure to compare prices elsewhere.
You may find you can get the same – or similar – item for less at another shop.
Here’s the best bargains we spotted in the Tesco toy sale:
Play Doh Create & Canister
Was: £35. Now: £17.50. Save: £17.50 (50%) – buy now
This mega tub of Play Doh treats could keep the little ones entertained for hours.
Inside the can, you’ll get 20 lumps of playdough and tools including plattes, rollers, scissors and stampers.
However, it’s not suitable for children under three years old.
We couldn’t find the same sized Play Doh toy going cheaper elsewhere.
But this smaller set, which has six cans of Play Doh including tools, is going for £13 at Smyths Toys.
Carousel Lets Go Sand Wagon
Was: £8. Now: £4. Save: £4 (50%) – buy now
If you’ve got a sandpit or you’re lucky enough to have a beach near your home, then these toys could be perfect for some sandcastle fun.
The wagon comes with a watering can, rake, and sand moulds, and the handle doubles up as a spade.
We couldn’t see this item going for cheaper elsewhere.
But if you don’t have a sandpit and you don’t live by the sea, then this wagon with tools for gardening could be a good alternative – but it costs £13 from TK Maxx.
Barbie Convertible Car & Doll
Was: £30. Now: £15. Save: £15 (50%) – buy now
If your little one is a fan of Barbie, then you could get this car and doll set for £15, down from £30.
We couldn’t find the same set being sold for cheaper elsewhere.
But for a tenner more, you could get two Barbie dolls and a jeep for just under £25 from Smyths Toys.
Baby Clementoni Octopus Shape Sorter
Was: £20. Now: £10. Save: £10 (50%) – buy now
This octopus themed game could be a good choice if you’ve got a baby.
When you press a button, plastic shapes are released from the octopus’ tentacles.
Then, your baby can figure out which one fits in which hole, and learn about shapes in the process.
However, we did find that the same game was being sold for just under £6 from Amazon – so it might be worth checking this out.
Lego Panda Jungle Tree House
Was: £25. Now: £12.50. Save: £12.50 (50%) – buy now
This jungle-themed Lego toy is half price at £12.50, down from £25, and could be a great toy to keep the kids entertained.
The box includes a jungle playground you can build, which includes a treehouse, slide, seesaw and tyre swing.
It also comes with two lego dolls you can build and three baby panda figures.
This was the cheapest price we could find for this particular toy.
But if you’re looking for a cheaper animal-themed Lego toy, we spotted this vet and quad bike set for £9 from Argos.
Peppa Pig 123 Soft Toy
Was: £20. Now: £10. Save: £10 (50%) – buy now
Everyone loves Peppa Pig, and now you can treat your little one to gifts of the infamous TV character for less.
This Peppa Pig soft toy can keep your kid company – if you squeeze it, it says four phrases.
We couldn’t find this exact toy cheaper elsewhere.
But for £6 more, you could splash out on a giant talking Peppa Pig for £16 from Argos.
Spring sales: Argos, Matalan and Dunelm have slashed up to 50% off hundreds of items.
