GET ready to style it out at London Fashion Week, with all the top designers in town to showcase their latest collections.

If you are anything like me, this will tempt you to hit the shops. Luckily, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help you get a Gucci look on a Primark budget.

Sale away: If you are an LFW buff, you know the early shows preview autumn/winter styles.

This gives retailers a few months to design their ranges before they release them.

Happily for us, it also lets us be crafty in the sales.

After checking out which looks will be staying on trend, we can buy them at a fraction of the price.

Good buy: Spend a Saturday afternoon trawling your nearby charity shops.

I have previously found high-end High Street pieces for a tenner — and even designer clobber for less than £100.

Facebook friends: Head to Facebook Marketplace for second-hand items.

People often want to get rid of things quickly so will sell for a good price if you pick them up.

In my area, I spotted a barely worn Topshop dress for £5 and a Zara coat for £7.

Facebook groups such as Women’s Clothes For Sale or Swap — UK only — are also worth checking out.

Sew good: Like getting a bit crafty? Try upcycling items you already have in your wardrobe.

Hobbycraft’s midi sewing machine is now £40, discounted from £50.

As you will be creating your own pieces, you can copy your favourite catwalks looks.

Mix ’n’ match: Organise a clothing-swap party with friends.

The premise is simple — you all bring clothes, shoes and accessories you no longer want then swap them with each other.

You will feel like you have just been shopping.
