Another series of Strictly Come Dancing is drawing to a close, with the grand final set to take place on Saturday 18 December.

The hit BBC One show has seen a string of famous faces take to the dance floor over the past 13 weeks, including the likes of Tilly Ramsay, Rhys Stephenson, and Tom Fletcher.

The upcoming final will see actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice battle it out against Bake Off champion John Whaite and Johannes Rabede to be crowned this year's dancing champions.

EastEnders star Rose and Strictly pro Giovanni have captured the hearts of the nation with their impeccable dance skills and undeniable bond throughout the course of the series, and now many fans are rooting for them to take home the Glitterball trophy.

The 2021 series marks professional dancer Giovanni's seventh year on the show, and this year is actually the fourth time he has reached the grand final with a celebrity partner.

Giovanni first took to the Strictly dance floor in 2014, when he was partnered with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote.

The pair topped the leaderboard several times throughout the season, ultimately landing them a spot in the final.

Although Giovanni and Georgia were awarded a perfect 40 for their Charleston, they lost out to Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani who took home the Glitterball trophy.

The following year saw Giovanni paired with TV presenter Laura Whitmore, but they failed to make it all the way and were eliminated in week seven.

However, 2017 saw Giovanni return with a bang and his partnership with performer Debbie McGee proved successful. The pair wowed the judges every week throughout the fifteenth series of Strictly, scoring a perfect 40 by week seven.

Debbie and Giovanni won a place in the grand final, but unfortunately lost out to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.

Giovanni's next celebrity partner was Steps singer Faye Tozer, who he also managed to reach the final with, marking his third grand final in four years. They continuously topped the leaderboard each week, but failed to lift the Glitterball trophy having come runner-up to Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell.

Series 17 saw the Italian professional dancer eliminated in week nine alongside celebrity partner Michelle Visage, while the following year he reached the semi-finals with GMB presenter Ranvir Singh.

2021 could be set to be the first time Giovanni lifts the Glitterball, as he and Rose prepare to face John and Johannes on the dance floor.

Fellow finalists AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington unfortunately had to pull out of the final, after AJ recently sustained a devastating injury to her foot, leaving her unable to perform.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday 18 December on BBC One.
