It’s no surprise then that whenever the tennis star has a match, her box and the front row of the game is full of A-listers from the worlds of fashion, beauty and sports.
Ahead of her retirement, Serena played a game against Anett Kontaveit at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre at New York's Flushing Meadows on Wednesday and many a familiar face came to support her.
Serena won the match against Estonian player Anett as she pushed retirement aside to give viewers a spectacle worth showing up for.
Two of the most famous faces in modelling,GigiandBella Hadidshowed up to celebrate Serena’s win.
Gigi, 27, stood out from the crowd in a stunning red jumpsuit with a risqué cutout at the back.
Young sister Bella, 25, stuck to the tennis theme as she sported a plunging white sweatshirt and a skirt as she hugged her sister to celebrate the win.
Also from the world of fashion was Vogue editor Anna Wintour, whose magazine broke the news that Serena was retiring.
Being a fashionista Anna, 72, sported her trademark bob haircut and sunglasses along with a flora printed blue dress.
Supporting her sister was Venus Williams who sported a green hoody with mini tennis balls all over it as well as a typical tennis visor.
She was joined on the front row by golf legend Tiger Woods who was unable to keep his eyes from the scene playing out in front of him.
Tiger's girlfriend Erica Herman couldn't keep the grin off her face as she watched the game with her beau.
Serena’s husband Alexis Ohanian made sure he showed up to support his wife in one of her last matches, though the pair’s daughter was not with him.
Film director Spike Lee was also in attendance as was singer Seal who shared a sweet moment with his daughter Leni Klum.
Actor Jared Leto sported a casual look to watch the game with a baggy tee, tracksuit and bright pink balaclava tied around his neck.
Elsewhere actress Laverne Cox looked sensational in a very racy outfit that left little to the imagination but covered up in a face mask to sit in the crowded stadium.
The match is the start of Serena’s retirement and the pro recently revealed thatPrince Harry helped her make the decisionto leave the tennis world.
Speaking on Meghan Markle's new podcast Archetypes, the pair say how they had a long chat which helped Serena come to her decision to retire – chatting for almost an hour about it.
Speaking to both Serena and Harry, Meghan explained in the episode: “I think, you know, I think both of us, or the three of us, really know that sometimes the right decision isn’t the easiest decision.”
She added: “It takes a lot of courage, I think, too, to stop something in many ways than to keep going sometimes.”
