It’s been over 20 years since Sarah Ferguson was an official member of the Royal Family, following her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996. Nevertheless, the Duchess of York still remains close to “The Firm” and her ex husband, who she’s been spotted with on multiple occasions. The couple’s closeness has led fans to believe they’ll remarry, with some insiders claiming they’re currently in talks about marriage and others hinting they could still be an item.

Sarah Ferguson says life with Prince Andrew is a ‘fairytale’ – marriage rumours heat up

So what has Sarah said about their relationship?

The 59-year-old didn’t hold back about their close relationship in a recent interview.

As she spoke about her ex – whom she has daughters Princess Beatrice, 30, and Princess Beatrice, 29, with – she gushed: “Although we are not a couple, we really believe in each other.”

She added to The Daily Mail: “The Yorks are a united family. We’ve shown it. You saw it at the wedding. My duty is to him. I am so proud of him. I stand by him and always will. The way we are is our fairytale.”

Despite being divorced, Fergie and Andrew still share a home together at the Royal Lodge, Windsor.

Sarah was said to have moved into the property, which is owned by Prince Andrew, in 2008.

Speaking of their living arrangements in 2016, she said: “I’m in and out of all the time and he’s in and out all the time.”

However, during an interview last year she revealed they still make time for family time, admitting she and Andrew still “sit around the table and have afternoon tea together.”

She added: “We enjoy each other’s company; we allow each other to blossom. I know it sounds like a fairytale but that’s the way we are.”

Andrew and Sarah got married in 1986 at Westminster Abbey. They spent six years as a happily married couple before announcing their separation in 1992.

Their divorce was eventually finalised in 1996, with the couple stating it was an “amicable split”.

Since their split the couple have been pictured out on numerous occasions.

Body language expert Judi James analysed some of their most recent outings and told Express.co.uk they gave off the impression of an “existing couple”.

She said: “I think it’s fair to say that Andrew and Sarah are now presenting the kind of body language in public that would define them as an existing couple.”
