SAINSBURY’S shoppers have been left fuming after the supermarket cancelled more deliveries due to snow.

It comes after customers across all major grocers first started complaining about missing orders this week.

The disappointment means some self-isolating families and vulnerable households have been left without essentials ahead of the New Year.

And in worse news, some shoppers have been told that redeliveries aren't available until 2021.

The UK is currently bracing for six inches of snow before New Year's Day, with most areas slapped with yellow weather warnings.

The snow alert covers the northwest of England, much of Wales, and some of the West Midlands including Stoke-on-Trent.

Sainsbury’s shoppers have been complaining on Twitter after their orders were cancelled due to the bad weather.

One customer said: “No groceries from Sainsburys, they just cancelled the order because of the snow and didn't let us know. I wouldn't mind but David is 76 with breathing problems.”

Another said: “My parents’ delivery did not arrive today. No notification.

“When I chased it up, informed due to snow. They are in their 80s, with disabilities. Offered next delivery on 4th January!”

A third said: “Absolute Joke you have waited until 1605 to tell me my weekly food order is cancelled with full refund because of the snow, the main roads are clear.

“Delivery due 4-5pm why has it taken ALL day? £6 voucher is not good enough.”

It’s not clear exactly how many Sainsbury’s shoppers have been affected by the latest cancellation, but the supermarket said it was "a very small proportion" of orders.

If your delivery has been cancelled, Sainsbury's should offer you a full refund.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We continue to give prioritised access to our vulnerable customers for home delivery and a very small proportion of orders have been cancelled due to dangerous road conditions for our drivers.

“We understand the inconvenience this is causing and are in contact with the customers affected so that we can arrange to deliver their groceries as soon as possible.”

When we checked social media today, the majority of complaints seem to be direct toward Sainsbury's, although other supermarkets appear to have cancelled some orders too.

One Tesco shopper said: "Not only has Tesco’s completely failed to deliver the click and collect due to the van getting stuck in the snow, but they’ve taken the shopping charge from my current account! Truly truly awful shopping service!"

A Morrisons shopper added: "The weather isn't great but no warning that my delivery is cancelled. I'm shielding, I'm sole carer for my dad who is 88. A text or email would be good."

And an Asda shopper said: "Disgusted that Asda cancelled my delivery without trying to rearrange it and wouldn’t answer the phone!

"Just got told it was cancelled due to an act of god by an online order customer service. Not ok when I pay for a delivery pass!"

If you've had your order cancelled, we explain how to get last-minute deliveries from Aldi and Morrisons via Deliveroo.

Or if you're able to go to the shops, it's worth checking the festive opening hours of the supermarkets beforehand.

In April, thousands of shoppers had their supermarket deliveries cancelled after their banks suspected fraud and blocked the payments.
