The first mention of Prince William’s infidelity popped up in April, with news that Middleton and Hanbury had a falling out, as The Sun reported at the time that the women’s rift was “much worse than first thought” and that the duchess told Prince William that Hanbury needed to be “phased out” from their inner circle.
A source shared with The Sun: “It is well known that Kateand Rose have had a terrible falling out. They used to be close but that is notthe case any more. William wants to play peacemaker so the two couples canremain friends, given they live so close to each other and share many mutualfriends.”
The insider added: “But Kate has been clear that she doesn’twant to see them any more and wants William to phase them out,despite their social status.”
The rumors ‘didn’t go down well with Kate’
While Prince William and Middleton didn’t publicly respond to the rumors, Middleton understandably found the gossip “hurtful,” with a family friend telling Us Weekly that the rumors “didn’t go down well with Kate.”
The insider noted, “Kate finds the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online.”
Hanbury’s ‘world has been rocked’
The claims that Prince William had an affair with Hanbury have left her reeling, according to a report from the Sun, which notes “her world has been rocked.”
Hanbury recently attended the state banquet at Buckingham Palace with her husband, David Rocksavage, where she was spotted without her wedding ring.
Hanbury’s brother reportedly shared his sister’s reaction tothe rumors, as a source, who is a regular at her brother’s private members’ club,told The Sun: “He let it slip when he had been drinking that Rose is aware ofwhat people are saying about her and William.”
Additionally, her brother alluded to some fallout in Hanbury’smarriage, as the source revealed: “And it seems Rose’s marriage has lessromance these days. He’s much older than her and they have different interests.Rose is up there in Norfolk in a nice stately pile. She’s a pretty girl andDavid is often a long way away in Paris or London.”
Another source, one of Hanbury’s friends, told The Sun that “these are very, very trying times for Rose and she has not found it easy knowing that she is the subject of gossip simply because she happened to form a good friendship with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”
Hanbury has been advised to ‘keep quiet’
In the wake of the affair rumors Hanbury hasn’t responded, with a new report from the Mail on Sunday noting that royal advisors want her to “say nothing.”
One source close to Hanbury shared that “people are worried about her,” adding, ‘It has caused her great distress to have suddenly found herself the talking point of everyone in the area. She is very aware about what is being said and she has tried to put a brave face on it.”
Further, the source noted, “On top of that, she has ahusband who is away more than he is present. It has been a lonely time.”
Another friend shared, “It’s been very hard on them. I knowit has really upset them. I’ve spoken to David about it. There is absolutely notruth in it and it has been incredibly hard for them.”
The friend noted, “It is not true, all nonsense, but sheknows that it is very hard to say anything. She just has to wait until it allblows over. That is what the couple have been advised and that is all she cando.”
